Consecration: The Court of Brunne

113

‘AN EXCELLENT CONSECRATION’, is the welcome remark made by the considerable number of Brethren who attended the first meeting of The Court of Brunne, No. 113 on Saturday 10th October 2015.

This being the tenth and final Court to be Consecrated in The Province of Lindsey, it was of huge importance to everyone concerned, in particular to our Provincial Grand Master, R. W. Bro. Raymond Norman Dinning, GCSM, and all of the Brethren who took office for the Ceremony.

The Grand Master, M. W. Bro. Paul Weldon Johnston, PGHCh, GCSM, and our Assistant Grand Master, R. W. Bro. Dr. Christopher Wilson Guy Ansell, GCh, GCSM, were also present, along with numerous Grand and Provincial Officers, and Brethren from the Province of Lindsey and several adjoining Provinces.

So, the day began early, with the sun shining and a late summer day in prospect. The Masonic Centre was soon full, with all chairs in the Court occupied.

The RWPGM entered the Court exactly on 10 a.m. and Proceeded to open the Provincial Grand Court. The PGM then invited V. W. Bro. William Henry Carlyon, KSM, PGSwdB, Deputy Grand Master, to take the Chair and conduct the Ceremony of Instruction of the Founders.

W. Bro. Matthew Bainbridge in turn took the Chair and opened a Board of Installed Masters to conduct the Ceremony of Installing those Brethren subject to Special Progression…..following this, a very welcome ‘break’ was announced, giving all of the assembled Brethren the opportunity to step outside and cool off.

Upon returning to the Temple, the Provincial Grand Court was re-convened. The Grand Master, M. W. Bro. Paul Weldon Johnston, PGHCh, GCSM, the Assistant Grand Master, R. W. Bro. Dr. Christopher Wilson Guy Ansell, GCh, GCSM, and The Past Deputy Grand Master, R. W. Bro. David Buxton, GCh, GCSM, were received into Provincial Grand Court.

The PGM then called on the Provincial Grand Prior, R. W. & Em. Bro. Canon Ronald Calderwood Black, KSM, for Prayer.

Then followed the dedication of the new Court of Brunne, No. 113 by the PGM in his customary, friendly and relaxed manner.

The Provincial Grand Master then closed Provincial Grand Court.

The Installing Officer, W. Bro. Tom Urwin, KSM, DepGSwdB, ProvGSec. Assumed the Chair and opened the new Court, Installing W. Bro. Jacob Johannis Geelhoed, PPrGBB (Province of Mercia) as Primus Master of The Court of Brunne, No. 113.

The Grand Master then ‘entrusted’ the Worshipful Master with the Warrant of the Court, and ‘obliged’ him to observe the Nine and Nineteen Charges, which he also presented to the Master.

The first Officers of the Court were appointed and invested, and the By-Laws approved.

The assembled Brethren then retired to the dining room to enjoy a wonderful and very welcome meal.

It could be said that this new and very important Court AT Bourne, was ‘born’ and heartily welcomed by the Members of the Province, into what our Provincial Grand Master describes as ‘a unique group of Brethren……..THE FAMILY OF LINDSEY’.
