After a good sleep the Grand Master and his Team met for an early breakfast at 7.00am and then it was back to Grand Lodge of Bolivia, Calle Obispo Cardenas, No 1480, esquina Calle Bueno, for the Consecration of three Courts; Court of Illimani, No 115; Court of Simon Bolivar, No 116; and the Court of Los Andes, No 117.

The Temple was quickly laid out to the satisfaction of the Grand Marshal and there then followed a series of rehearsals for three separate sets of Petitioners. This went excellently and on time. The Grand Master, Petitioners and Brethren all were able to partake of the obligatory final cup of Tea and then it was back into the Temple.

At 9.00am the Grand Master consecrated the Court of Illimani, No 115. W Bro Ernesto Duarte de la Quintanna was installed as the Primus Master. He then appointed and invested his Officers.

At 10.30am the Grand Master consecrated the Court of Simon Bolivar, No 116. W Bro Einar Lopez Flores was installed as the Primus Master. He then appointed and invested his Officers.

There then followed a most welcome refreshment break. As La Paz is in an extremely high region it can cause altitude sickness, or other effects from the altitude; dehydration being a common problem to visitors. We were all advised, prior to departure, to avoid drinking alcohol, and to drink plenty of water; not to eat too much at night (digestion is also difficult) so the break was an ideal time to take in some fluids so avoiding any possibility of dehydration.

At 2.00pm the Grand Master consecrated the Court of Los Ands, No 117. W Bro Jorge Chamon (Deputy Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Bolivia) was installed as the Primus Master. He then appointed and invested his Officers.

At the conclusion of the Consecrations all joined together light refreshments. Then it was back to the Hotel for some rest.

At 7.00pm the Team attended a dinner hosted by the Provincial Grand Master for Bolivia, R W Bro Jose Mendoza. The splendid dinner and hospitality was greatly enjoyed by all – with the exception of our Grand Master, who had unfortunately gone down with an upset stomach. RWBro Roy Leavers stepped in as his representative to receive a wonderful commemorative plaque at the event.
